Question: What do walruses, penguins and entrepreneurs have in common?
Answer: They often benefit from gathering in groups.
And since a group of walruses and penguins is called a huddle, I propose that entrepreneurs, likewise, when gathered together for the common good, refer to ourselves as a huddle of entrepreneurs.
“Animals form groups to increase their chance of survival. The animals work together to hunt, raise their young, protect each other, and more. Survival would be much more difficult if some animals lived on their own rather than in a group.” This definition, courtesy Varsity Tutors, an educational resource for third graders.
Animals know the benefits of gathering to boost their individual success; we can learn a lot from these wise creatures.
I’m doing my part by giving entrepreneurs a place and time to gather, or, huddle, together at a weekly Friday Zoom call: A Huddle of Entrepreneurs. Let’s take a few minutes each week to ask the group, offer your opinion, meet fellow entrepreneurs who’ve been there or who are heading there.
There might be a topic - or maybe an open mic to ask a burning question… My ear will be listening for the pulse of the group. Tune in and have a valuable experience that can bring inspiration, clarity or just a much-needed social outlet from the sometimes lonely rigors of entrepreneurship.
